What type of Identification should I bring?
Most states recognize the following types of identification as valid ifit is current or issued within the last five years:
- State driver license or ID card
- U.S. passport
- U.S. Military identification card (current military identification cards may not have all of the required elements)
- ForeignPassport stamped by the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS),which is now know as the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services
All identification cards must contain a photo, a physical description, a signature, and a serial number.
An international driver's license cannot be accepted s proof of identification.

What is an Acknowledgment?
The acknowledgment is the form most commonly completed by the notary public.
What is an Jurat?
In a jurat, the notary verifies the identity of the signer. The notary also acts as a witness, because the signer signs the document in the presence of the notary.The jurat is identified by the wording “subscribed and sworn to (or affirmed)” contained in the form.
